Vilokanam Sutra

The Vilokanam Sutra simply means "By Mere Observation." It teaches us that sometimes, the answer to a complex-looking problem is right in front of us—we just need to know how to look!

The "Observation" Rule for 9️⃣

"A number is divisible by 9 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 9."

Example: Observe 1287

1. Add the Digits: 1 + 2 + 8 + 7 = 18.
2. Check the Sum: Is 18 divisible by 9? Yes!
3. Conclusion: Because the sum of the digits is divisible by 9, the original number 1287 is also divisible by 9.
