The Lucky Sevens Times Table!

The 7s seem tricky, but you already know most of them!

🤩 You Already Know Most of It!

Because you've learned the other tables, you already know the answers up to 7 x 6!

7 x 1 is the same as 1 x 7 = 7

7 x 2 is the same as 2 x 7 = 14

7 x 3 is the same as 3 x 7 = 21

7 x 4 is the same as 4 x 7 = 28

7 x 5 is the same as 5 x 7 = 35

7 x 6 is the same as 6 x 7 = 42

🤏 The Finger Trick (for 7x6 and up!)

For the rest, you can use the amazing finger trick! Remember, number your fingers like this:

Thumb=6, Index=7, Middle=8, Ring=9

Let's solve 7 x 9:

1. Touch the Fingers:

Touch your '7' finger (index) on one hand to your '9' finger (ring) on the other.

Step 1: Fingers touching for the 7 times 9 trick

2. Count the Tens:

Count the touching fingers and all fingers below them. You have 6 fingers in this group. That's 60.

Step 2: Counting the 6 tens fingers

3. Multiply the Ones:

Count the fingers *above* the touching ones. You have 3 fingers on one hand and 1 on the other. Multiply them: 3 x 1 = 3.

Step 3: Multiplying the 3 and 1 ones fingers

4. Add Them Up:

Add your tens and ones together: 60 + 3 = 63. So, 7 x 9 = 63!

🧩 The 'Break-Apart' Trick (5+2)

Seven is just 5 + 2! You can "break apart" any 7s problem into an easy 5s problem and a simple 2s problem.

How to solve 7 x 8:

First, solve (5 x 8) = 40.

Next, solve (2 x 8) = 16.

Now, just add them together!

40 + 16 = 56
